Nanum Livestock Movement Headquarters and Daedong Tech Join Hands to Foster Young Talent to Lead the Future of Livestock

[Korea Agricultural Technology Newspaper = Reporter Lee Hyun-woo] A heartwarming act of mutual support by agricultural and livestock companies and organizations to foster young talent for the future of the livestock industry is drawing warm admiration.

Nanum Livestock Movement Headquarters (Co-standing Representatives Ahn Byung-woo and Oh Se-jin) visited Korea National University of Agriculture and Fisheries in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, on May 28 and, together with Daedong Tech (CEO Oh Heon-sik), a company specializing in agricultural and livestock machinery and smart farm solutions, held a scholarship award ceremony for the “Daedong Tech Scholarship” to nurture young talent for the future of agriculture and livestock.

Lee Hyo-jun, a second-year student at Korea National University of Agriculture and Fisheries majoring in Korean beef cattle, was selected as the first recipient of the Daedong Tech Scholarship. Chosen through the university’s recommendation, Lee is regarded as a model student with not only excellent academic performance but also outstanding practical field capabilities.

Over the next year, Lee Hyo-jun will receive a scholarship of 500,000 won per month, totaling 6 million won, to be used for living stability and academic support.

This scholarship payment stemmed from Daedong Tech’s “annual sponsorship pledge of 10 million won” signed with Nanum Livestock Movement Headquarters on March 26. Daedong Tech designated part of the donation as funds to foster young talent who will lead the future livestock industry, and Nanum Livestock Movement Headquarters completed the youth talent support process through thorough screening and university recommendations.

CEO Oh Heon-sik said, “The livestock industry is going through difficult times overall, but especially at times like this, I thought we should help young farmers who will be responsible for the future of our rural communities and livestock industry, so I decided to sponsor this scholarship,” adding, “I hope student Lee Hyo-jun, who has received this support, will grow into an excellent livestock expert and bring new vitality to our rural communities.”

In response, Ahn Byung-woo, co-standing representative (CEO of Livestock Economy at NongHyup Agribusiness Group), said, “Amid the difficulties facing the livestock industry, Daedong Tech’s donation is like sweet rain for young livestock farmers,” and added, “We will execute the scholarship with great transparency and substance so that CEO Oh Heon-sik’s warm spirit of sharing and intentions can lead to the precious result of fostering young livestock professionals.”
